The subject descriptor has been designed
with input from professional bodies and practitioners from the further and
higher education sector to help individuals who want to take their first step
into a health career but may not have the right qualifications to do so.
Through the essential content detailed in
the Subject Descriptor students, universities and employers can be confident
that those completing these new Diplomas will have an understanding of the
professional standards and reflective practice required of healthcare
professionals, and that they have relevant experience of numeracy skills which
can be applied in professional healthcare settings.
